Alumni Giving Opens Doors

Alumni support opens doors, helping improve campus life and the educational experience for the growing student body at Lyon College. As the College grows, so do the opportunities for Alumni to make a difference.

Some opportunities are more vital than others this year, so your Alumni Association has worked with the Lyon College Administration to find three important and exciting projects that will immediately benefit from alumni financial support.

EDUCATION: Essential Technology Upgrades are needed to keep classrooms running and students up-to-date. Replacing servers or hardware in one of the college’s five computer labs is vital to keep pace both with Lyon’s growing number of students and fast-changing industry standards;
ADVENTURE: Gear to build Lyon’s revitalized Outdoor Adenture program is needed. From sleeping bags and caving equipment to trailers for stacked canoes and kayaks (as well as a multi-use vehicle or two capable of towing them), essential gear is needed to revive this memorable program, which opens students’ eyes to the beauty and excitement of Lyon’s natural setting; and
ARTS: Brown Chapel Renovations are due. Sound and electrical upgrades  or even a fresh coat of paint  are needed to refresh this campus’ most iconic and community-friendly building.

And if none of these projects catch your eye,  alumni gifts to annual scholarships help open doors to make a Lyon education more affordable for more than 90 percent of our student body.

You choose which project(s) your gift will directly support. And if you have an idea of a project you’d like to be considered next time, just include a note with your donation.

The needs are great, but Lyon alumni are the greatest! Together, we can show our support and make a difference. Our gifts can open doors to comfortable computing environments, to the exhilaration of scaling scenic cliffs or sailing vibrant waters, or even to welcome children from the Batesville community to hear a Christmas concert in beautiful Brown Chapel.

You can even call in your donation at 870-307-7211.  And don’t forget to encourage your fellow classmates to also participate by June 30. This deadline is important because the class with the highest participation percentage will receive special recognition during Homecoming, October 22-24.

So make a tax-deductible gift today that goes to the project you choose, that helps the College you love, and that will immediately help the students who also call Lyon Alma Mater.
